Electrical Design Engineer

About The Position

This position is responsible for designing, developing, documenting, and supporting products that meet commitments to cost and schedule, customer, compliance, and regulatory requirements, and Curbell's Quality Management System. The role includes designing new products and enhancing existing designs, leading small to midsize projects, supporting verification and validation, preparing documentation, and helping improve design engineering processes. The engineer also works with customers, business partners, suppliers, and external engineering service providers, and resolves customer issues with limited supervision.

Responsibilities

Demonstrate electrical design and analysis capabilities, including analog and digital design, circuit design and analysis, design for manufacturing, design for cost, design for test, design for standards (ISO, FDA, UL, ANSI, etc.), and basic software design.
Design and develop products for Curbell's customers.
Act as project lead on small to midsize projects requiring project management skills.
Use manual and automated tools to assist in the design process, including Altium, circuit simulation, spreadsheets, and statistical software.
Manage enhancements to existing designs, including functional improvements and changes to increase product reliability and reduce product cost.
Manage functional aspects of projects, including design verification and validation.
Expand knowledge of electrical engineering through outside training, learning from more experienced peers, and interaction with outside suppliers and test facilities.
Identify and implement changes to the Curbell Quality Management System and other processes to improve the effectiveness of the design engineering department.
Create documentation for internal and external use.
Pursue and maintain technical and strategic relationships with business partners, suppliers, and external sources of engineering services.
Maintain basic knowledge of customer and supplier products and processes.
Resolve customer issues with limited supervision.
Perform other duties as assigned.
