About The Position

Electrical Design Engineers are needed in Greenville, SC, with 7 openings available. This is a long-term assignment with potential for GSA Reimbursable Per Diem for those who qualify. Pay rates vary depending on the selected labor category: Electrical Design Engineer ($71-$85/hour), Senior Electrical Design Engineer ($104-$122/hour), and Principal Electrical Design Engineer ($119-$139/hour).

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical (Power) Engineering
  • Minimum 5 years of related experience (for Electrical Design Engineer)
  • Minimum 10 years of related experience (for Senior Electrical Design Engineer)
  • Minimum 15 years of related experience (for Principal Electrical Design Engineer)
  • Experience supporting EPC industrial or commercial projects
  • Intermediate knowledge of electrical engineering codes and standards (for Electrical Design Engineer)
  • Advanced knowledge of electrical engineering codes and standards (for Senior Electrical Design Engineer)
  • Advanced technical leadership experience (for Principal Electrical Design Engineer)
  • Experience leading discipline activities and mentoring engineers/designers (for Senior Electrical Design Engineer)
  • Significant EPC project experience on large industrial projects (for Senior Electrical Design Engineer)
  • Experience serving in lead or supervisory engineering roles (for Principal Electrical Design Engineer)
  • Significant experience leading large EPC industrial projects (for Principal Electrical Design Engineer)
  • Ability to provide technical oversight and independent technical direction (for Principal Electrical Design Engineer)
  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • Working knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local codes and standards
  • Ability to communicate effectively with project teams, vendors, and clients
  • Experience with engineering analysis and design tools in a multi-discipline environment
  • Ability to work in a time-conscious and detail-oriented environment
  • Proficiency with standard computer software applications

Nice To Haves

  • DOE or nuclear industry experience
  • Experience supporting projects under ASME NQA-1 requirements
  • Experience with highly regulated industrial facilities
  • Experience with manufacturing, pharmaceutical, or biotechnology facilities
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • Practical field experience
  • Experience with: ETAP, SPEL, S3D, Visual Professional lighting software, Other electrical power system software tools
  • Advanced knowledge of electrical power systems

Responsibilities

  • Develop and review electrical specifications and design criteria
  • Prepare and modify electrical design drawings including: Single line diagrams, Schematics, Wiring diagrams, Raceway layouts, Lighting layouts, Grounding systems
  • Perform electrical engineering calculations and analyses including: Short circuit studies, Relay coordination studies, Voltage drop calculations, Cable derating calculations, Cable pulling tension calculations, Load flow studies, Motor starting studies, Harmonics studies, Ground grid analysis
  • Develop electrical system design documents and area classifications
  • Prepare motor schematics and wiring diagrams
  • Coordinate technical issues with engineering disciplines, project management, vendors, and clients
  • Support procurement activities including technical bid evaluations and vendor submittal reviews
  • Support construction activities including field changes and RFIs
  • Execute work in accordance with project quality requirements, scope, schedule, and cost baselines
  • Provide material quantity tracking, forecasting, and reporting
  • Other duties as assigned
