Electrical Design Engineer

About The Position

We are looking for an Electrical Engineer to join our Central Engineering team in Ann Arbor. The engineer will work in a team of electrical and mechanical design engineers responsible for power modules and racks modules across different divisions within the corporation. The engineer drives the designing, detailing, and testing new electrical sub-system for the next generation of KLA tools! You will design electrical parts, modules and subsystems that are part of an entire measurement system. Responsibilities include: Own the complete design process from requirements specification, feasibility studies, cost and scheduling, to conducting various analysis (such as circuit, timing, thermal/cooling, electrical loads), Thermal/cooling analysis and control. PLC programming, Conceptual and detailed design using design tools (OrCAD, AutoCAD), detailed drawings, design review presentations, Procurement of prototype parts, system integration, prototype testing, and handoff to manufacturing.

Requirements

  • Minimum two years' relevant experience
  • PLC Programming (Siemens, Allen Bradley)
  • Communication fieldbus protocols (e.g. CAN bus)
  • Knowledge of controls (Thermal/Cooling modeling, Control and Safety circuits, PID Tuning)
  • MATLAB, Python, LabVIEW
  • Solid understanding of OrCAD, AutoCAD (CREO is a plus!)
  • Strong problem analysis and solving capability
  • Ability to diagnose problems and hands-on troubleshooting experience for complex electrical subsystems
  • Enjoy working on groundbreaking technologies
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to travel up to 20% (domestic and international)
  • Master's Level Degree and 0 years related work experience; Bachelor's Level Degree and related work experience of 2 years
