About The Position

The Optics Electronics Department is an electrical engineering organization that designs, tests, and integrates advanced electrical subsystems for airborne, naval, and land-based military applications. The Optics Electronics department is seeking an Electrical Engineer with experience in designing, testing, and troubleshooting complex electronics, including fault isolation and root cause analysis. This role involves working on multi-disciplinary teams to design, develop, test, and integrate advanced EO systems and subsystems. Responsibilities may include analog and digital design, component trade studies, product development, supplier support, and digital logic development.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Experience in schematic capture, block diagrams, and parts lists for complex electronic systems.
  • Experience in fault isolation / root cause correct action involving complex electronic systems.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
  • Active and existing security clearance required after day 1.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience designing airborne electronic products with stringent size, weight, and power (SWAP) constraints.
  • Mentor Graphics XPedition schematic capture.
  • Experience working in a lab environment with standard Electrical Engineering lab equipment (e.g., Vector Network Analyzers, Power Meters, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, digital multimeters (DMMs), and signal sources).
  • Exceptional communication skills and a collaborative mindset to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic development environment.
  • Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Design advanced electro-optical solutions for our industry-leading systems that enhance sensing, targeting, and surveillance capabilities, empowering our defense forces with state-of-the-art technology.
  • Perform hands-on lab work in analog and/or digital electronics, including troubleshooting and system integration.
  • Utilize industry-standard CAE tools and EE lab equipment for design, simulation, and testing.
  • Develop schematics, HDL code, and conduct synthesis, simulation, and validation of designs.
  • Conduct circuit analysis, component selection, and root cause analysis with corrective actions.
  • Document design approaches, test results, and technical issues in a structured and organized manner.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, support supplier interactions, and contribute to design reviews.
