Requirements

Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related engineering discipline required at time of employment.
3+ years’ electrical design experience in Solar PV and/or BESS engineering.
Solar PV and Energy storage system design experience is required
High proficiency in AutoCAD required.
Ability to communicate technical knowledge in a clear and understandable manner is required.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) is required.

Nice To Haves

NABCEP Certification preferred
Experience with PV system modeling software is preferred.
Ability to perform shading analyses is preferred.

Responsibilities

Receive general instruction on key objectives for execution. Receive direction as needed, and especially on difficult assignments and possible solutions. Work is completed using standard engineering techniques and design principles and is reviewed by more senior staff to ensure application of sound professional judgement.
Assist with the marketing of the firm’s capabilities to establish new clients and enhance relationships.
Participate in the design and development of electrical plan sets, including site layouts and equipment details.
Learn and enhance plan-set templates, standards, and best practices.
Draft equipment layouts, installation details, and single-line diagrams (AC, DC, Auxiliary Power, etc.).
Coordinate with design engineers and collaborate with other engineering disciplines as needed.
Coordinate the design of electrical systems with licensed Engineers.
Identify issues on projects and collaborate with the client, co-workers, and others to execute effective solutions.
Interact with team members, clients, vendors, installation contractors, and others to create efficient and cohesive designs.
Generate Single Line Diagrams under the supervision of Sr. Design Engineers.
Complete electrical calculations under the supervision of Sr. Design Engineers.
Report the status of progress on each project to Managers on a weekly or daily basis as needed. Attend weekly management meetings as requested.
Attend coordination and design meetings, as requested.
Appropriately request technical support as needed on projects and keep on schedule.
Occasionally provide estimates of time to perform tasks.
Apply broad knowledge of engineering principles and procedures.
Communicate effectively with engineers, project managers, and clients.
Organize/prioritize multiple tasks to complete the design in a sequential efficient manner.
Accurately produce construction documents to meet milestone schedules within a predetermined hourly budget.
Address comments from clients, AHJ’s & other review authorities; adjust designs accordingly under the supervision of Sr. Design Engineer.
If directed, review all project related construction administrative items (shop drawings, RFI's, construction submittals).
Work within established project budgets.
Possess and continue to develop a working knowledge of all codes applicable to the discipline.
Possess and continue to develop a working knowledge of AutoCAD software.
