About The Position

P2S is seeking a talented Electrical Engineer to support its healthcare studio in its Long Beach or Irvine office. This is a full-time, mid-level position with a hybrid work schedule (3 days in-office, 2 days remote). The role involves leading and supporting all phases of engineering projects, from proposal development through construction completion, including budgeting, scheduling, planning, design, specifications, and working drawings. The engineer will also mentor junior engineers and contribute to business development efforts. P2S is recognized as a Best Place to Work and offers a collaborative, innovative environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) License required.
  • 5+ years of engineering design and/or project management experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Familiarity with California Building Code.
  • Familiarity with National Electrical Code.

Nice To Haves

  • Engineer-In-Training (EIT) Certification preferred.
  • LEED Accreditation is a plus.
  • Experience with low voltage building systems (Fire Alarm, Security, Voice/Data, Nurse Call) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with HCAI/OSHPD standards (preferred).
  • Familiarity with Net Zero Energy/Carbon design (a plus).
  • Project management (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support all phases of engineering projects—from proposal development through construction completion.
  • Responsible for budgeting, scheduling, planning, design, specifications, and working drawings.
  • Mentor junior engineers.
  • Contribute to business development efforts.
  • Review existing as-built drawings.
  • Perform field investigations.
  • Set up drawings and models for multiple disciplines.
  • Coordinate design schedules and deliverables.
  • Conduct feasibility studies.
  • Prepare schematic designs.
  • Perform energy calculations using EnergyPro or IES VE.
  • Develop single-line diagrams and load schedules.
  • Design lighting systems and controls.
  • Engineer normal, emergency, and renewable power systems.
  • Conduct Arc Flash, Short Circuit, and Coordination Power System Studies.
