Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in electrical engineering or electrical technology
- Proficient in CAD
- Knowledge of agency compliance codes such as NEC, NFPA, UL, and CE
- Minimum 2 years of experience in electrical design
Nice To Haves
- 2 years of experience with AutoCAD or other 2D drafting package
- 2 years of design experience with automated equipment
- Ability to perform short circuit analysis, breaker coordination, load flow studies, and calculate grounding requirements per IEEE Red, Buff, and Brown books
Responsibilities
- Design, detail, and integrate electrical components and systems to deliver innovative and safe equipment solutions
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to design complex systems
- Size and specify power distribution and protective circuit design
- Design and troubleshoot complex PLC-based equipment control systems
- Create, update, and maintain company documentation for all electrical schematics and cable drawings
- Interface with customers, sales, and management to accurately define system design parameters
- Practice DFMA techniques for R&D and production of electrical components and systems
- Assembly prototype electrical systems and conduct testing of components and sub-modules
- Perform cost-effective engineering exercises to optimize component costs
- Identify and resolve component obsolescence issues efficiently
