This role involves specifying, designing, implementing, and maintaining complex controls systems and software programming for production equipment. The engineer will also train and assist Controls Technicians in solving complex problems. The position requires a strong understanding of electrical safety, including OSHA rules and National Electrical Code, and the ability to develop safety procedures like Lock-Out/Tag-Out. The engineer will collaborate with internal teams, OEMs, vendors, and contractors on new equipment design, installation, and startup, including electrical component selection, design approval, software assessment, and acceptance testing. Responsibilities also include assisting with daily priorities, meeting production and engineering goals, and evaluating electrical equipment for best value. The role demands high-level troubleshooting, critical thinking, and problem-solving across electrical, mechanical, and process areas, with a focus on improving equipment and system performance through complex program modifications in PLCs, HMIs, and servo controllers. Additionally, the engineer will provide technical and operational training to various personnel and assist in project planning and budgeting.
