About The Position

Participate in developing and supporting all Electrical Control Design of AAON products. Participate in designing new products, must understand all electrical components such as Relays, Transformers, Circuit breakers, and Variable Speed Drives. etc., must know how to read electrical schematics, making recommendations if needed. In this position you will encounter complex engineering problems and are expected to analyze, research, and propose solutions under the guidance of the electrical engineering supervisor. Must be willing to cross-train within the Electrical Control group to do other tasks such as KAIC, manual programming of VFDs, run the End of Line (EOL) test software programs (Prism II or EOL), recommend making changes to the end of line test procedures and or testing components.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, or equivalent, and industry experience in the Commercial HVAC manufacturing, or equivalent experience in a similar industry.
  • Solid experience and knowledge of building control systems and protocols.
  • Strong background in control applications, with experience in the use of web-based development tools.
  • Works effectively in a fast-paced high-pressure environment.

Responsibilities

  • Understanding product specifications & sequence of operation of AAON products.
  • Participate in Developing and maintaining Electrical standard Control Per UL and ETL for all product lines
  • Analyzes and implements electrical hardware control VFD Relay logic for all products.
  • Participate in product specification design review.
  • Learn how to implement KAIC, calculate wiring sizes, and fuse sizing.
  • Works indirectly with line engineering and production departments to implement ECN.
  • Coordinates and leads engineering projects, working with management, production, applications, and marketing staff to plan and assess feasibility of projects.
  • Collaborates with field services to start up the units, which may include travel to field locations.
  • Calculates estimated usage for electrical components
  • Maintains customer technical support for hardware and software designs, including troubleshooting field problems and developing solutions.
