Electrical Control Systems Engineer

About The Position

Design and implement control systems and panels to maintain and improve manufacturing capabilities and sustainability. Prepare cost estimates for new items needed for production and new or modified equipment control needs. Select manufacturing controls equipment, prepare specifications, confer with vendors and prepare capital appropriations. Assist with preparation of expense and capital forecasts, budgets, controls and expenditures.

Requirements

  • B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • A minimum of 2 years of Electrical Engineering / Control Systems Engineering experience is required
  • Experience with programming ladder logic is required
  • Experience with troubleshooting, modifying, or creating new controls; including PLCs is required

Nice To Haves

  • 4 years of Electrical Engineering / Control Systems Engineering experience is preferred
  • Experience with Allen Bradley is strongly preferred
  • Experience with VFD drives, servo drives, IO racks is preferred
  • Ability to create and read electrical schematics is preferred
  • Ability to specify and size electrical components is preferred
  • Experience with cost estimates is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshooting, modifying or creating new control systems, including PLC and other programming.
  • Development and implementation of engineering projects to improve the manufacturing operations and processes.
  • Advising Engineering Manager as to plant equipment needs and pending problem areas involving plant equipment.
  • Other duties as assigned.
