About The Position

The Electrical Component Technician performs troubleshooting, testing, modification, and repair of aircraft instruments and electrical and electronic components. Working as part of our MRO team, this position uses a variety of hand tools, electronic test equipment, technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and schematics to identify problems and complete repairs in accordance with company procedures and Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs). Accuracy and documentation are an important part of the job. Technicians are responsible not only for completing quality repairs, but also for properly documenting work performed, materials used, and repair activity within company systems. This position provides opportunities to develop additional technical skills and expand your aviation MRO experience as you grow with Team JAS.

Requirements

  • Ability to lift and move moderate-weight aircraft components, tools, and equipment.
  • Ability to stand, bend, reach, and perform hands-on technical work for extended periods.
  • Ability to work in confined or limited-access spaces when required.
  • Ability to safely operate hand tools and electrical/electronic testing equipment.
  • Must follow required PPE and safety protocols at all times.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous electrical, electronics, electromechanical, aerospace, aviation, or technical repair experience.
  • Experience troubleshooting electrical or electronic components using diagnostic and test equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, technical manuals, and similar documentation.
  • Experience with soldering and component-level repair.
  • Familiarity with brazing and leak detection equipment is a plus.
  • Familiarity with components such as baffles, bellows, and bourdon tubes is a plus.
  • Previous aviation or aerospace experience preferred; industry-specific training may be provided for the right candidate.
  • Familiarity with FAA Part 145 Repair Station operations is a plus.
  • FAA or FCC certifications are a plus.
  • Experience with Quantum Control or another ERP/MRO tracking system is a plus.
  • Prior military technical experience is welcomed, and individuals transitioning from military service are encouraged to apply.
  • Strong electrical or electronics background.
  • Willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

  • Perform troubleshooting, operational testing, modification, and repair of aircraft electrical and electronic components.
  • Use hand tools, soldering irons, circuit testers, oscilloscopes, voltmeters, ammeters, ohmmeters, and other electrical/electronic test equipment.
  • Read and interpret Component Maintenance Manuals (CMMs), wiring diagrams, blueprints, schematics, and other technical documentation.
  • Work with electrical and electromechanical components including linear motion transducers, synchros, servos, solenoids, inductors, capacitors, relays, and resistors.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate work order documentation, logs, time records, material records, and other required repair documentation.
  • Enter and maintain repair information using company software and tracking systems, including Quantum Control.
  • Follow established procedures for handling and disposal of hazardous materials associated with assigned work.
  • Work collaboratively with technicians, engineering, quality, and other maintenance personnel to support efficient workflow and successful completion of repairs.
  • Ensure work is completed in accordance with Team JAS quality standards, approved technical data, company procedures, and applicable FAA requirements.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe and organized condition.
  • Follow all required PPE, safety, and workplace procedures.
