Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering (BSE - Electrical) from an ABET accredited institution required.
  • Five or more years of relevant engineering experience required.
  • Must possess excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills must be highly adaptable to a changing industry and willing to learn new skills as required.
  • Must be able or willing to learn how to configure and program industrial control systems.
  • Must have or be willing to acquire a working knowledge of industrial networking.

Nice To Haves

  • PE License preferred.
  • Experience working in facilities or commercial electrical infrastructure design preferred.
  • Building Automation System and/or programmable logic control experience will be considered a plus for potential job candidates.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for project design review to ensure consistency with Facilities Management and Construction (FM&C) design standards and requirements.
  • Implement design improvements to enhance system efficiency and reduce operational costs.
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical issues promptly to minimize downtime and ensure continuous operation.
  • Perform field inspections, monitor operation, provide preventive maintenance recommendations, and provide information to optimize maintenance activities on assigned equipment.
  • Work closely with other engineers, architects, project managers, and facility managers to coordinate electrical system installations and upgrades.
  • Verify scope of new electrical systems is archived and oversees commissioning and equipment turnover to facility managers.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of electrical system designs, maintenance schedules, and repair records.
  • Lead certain electrical engineering projects from conception to completion.
  • Develop engineering solutions, cost, and schedule estimates associated with small projects.
  • Upon project authorization, perform detailed scoping and work with contractors or internal labor to replace or improve commercial equipment.
  • Provide engineering assistance to FM&C critical facilities and Operating Centers within the company on activities requiring experience and expertise with electrical systems.
  • Manage building controls systems to improve equipment efficiencies and troubleshoot electrical systems.
  • Look for opportunities within the control system to help perform condition-based maintenance and eliminate equipment failures.
  • Interface with industry contacts and outside corporations, including consultants, contractors, and their employees.
