About The Position

HDR is hiring a BIM CAD Designer in its Building Engineering Services Group. The role supports the design of building-engineering infrastructure, including facilities such as data centers and commercial environments. Working for a specific discipline under the direct supervision of an engineer or other technical professional, the designer assists with discipline modeling, systems, content, and digital-delivery outputs. The position uses current 3D software to model BIM elements within the modeling environment and prepare design drawings, layouts, and diagrams. It also maintains discipline-model information and produces discipline-specific documentation with accurate annotations.

Requirements

• Technically qualified in 3D design software and document-management infrastructure.
• Competency with Microsoft Office products and communication tools.
• Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and organizational traits.
• Basic understanding of engineering or architectural concepts.

Nice To Haves

• Proficiency in Revit.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of building-engineering design.
• Experience with AEC consulting firms.
• Preference given to local candidates.

Responsibilities

• Work for a specific discipline under the direct supervision of an engineer or other technical professional.
• Assist in developing the discipline model, with direction from Digital Design or Engineering staff.
• Assist with creating the discipline model, systems, content, and overall digital-delivery output for the discipline.
• Accurately model BIM elements within the spatial constraints of the modeling environment using current 3D software.
• Prepare detailed design drawings, layouts, and diagrams using current 3D software.
• Maintain discipline-model project information, coordinates, scales, orientations, scope boundaries, match-lines, views, and sheets.
• Produce discipline-specific documentation with accurate annotations on all modeling output.
