Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for an EA-18G Aircraft Electrician (USN “AE / AT” rating) to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our organization. This role is located in NAS Whidbey Island (Oak Harbor, WA).

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum of 4 years experience
Active Government Secret Clearance Required
Familiarity with inspections, servicing, troubleshooting, removals, and repairs.
Comprehensive written and verbal English communication skills.
Ability to work flexible schedules to accommodate customer maintenance requirements.
Ability to clearly document maintenance and repair actions, equipment status tags, logs, parts requests, etc.
Ability to perform assigned duties while wearing required safety equipment.
Comply with all rules and regulations concerning health and safety, tool control, FOD control, and all training and certification requirements.
Familiarity with IETM’s and Wire Illuminator, as well as the NAMP 4790 and applicable NAVAIR technical publications.

Nice To Haves

Supported U.S. Navy F-18 or EA-18G squadrons on deployment.

Responsibilities

Understanding pre / post flight activities and inspections
Performing maintenance operations on F-18 aircraft, aircraft equipment, engines, components, and systems in accordance all applicable directives.
Ability to read and interpret wiring schematics, assembly drawings, process specifications, technical manuals, written instructions, test procedures, etc.
Able to setup and use a torque wrench and use common hand tools such as: wrenches, safety wire pliers, etc.
Able to operate specialty tools such as crimpers, multimeters, M1 meters, Air data test sets, pin extractors.
Able to remove, replace, and function check aircraft components and assemblies
Knowledgeable in wire repair, splicing, soldering and wire bundling.
Able to disassemble, pin and de-pin connectors.
Maintain electrical and instrument systems, including power generation, conversion, and distribution.
Inspect and maintain aircraft batteries and electrical components.
Maintain interior and exterior lighting on the aircraft.
Handle electrical control of aircraft systems, including hydraulics, landing gear, utilities, and power plant engines
Supervision of automatic flight control and stabilization systems.
Detailing aircraft compass systems, altitude reference systems, and inertial navigational systems
Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems encountered.
Provide technical advice, training, and troubleshooting assistance to “O” Level technicians.
Generate written reports for management in support of any contractual obligations.
