Requirements

  • Electrical skills on PLCs: Pico, Mico, CompactLogix, SLC500, ControlLogix, Guard Logix and PLC-5
  • Electrical skills on Servos: Ultra, Kinetix
  • Electrical skills on Networks: Ethernet /IP, Sercos, DH-485, DH+ and Remote I/O
  • Electrical skills on Safety devices: Guard I/O, Safety relays
  • Electrical skills on Drives: 160, 1305, 1336, PF4, PF40, PF70
  • Software skills: Linx, Drive Executive, RSLogix5, RSLogix500, RSLogix5000, PanelBuilder32, FactoryTalk View, Asset Centre, BOOTP-DHCP Server, RSNetworx
  • Computer Skills including familiarity with: Electrical Software, Outlook, Excel, Word, SAP, and SharePoint
  • Skills on electrical testing devices: Multimeters (AC/DC voltage and amperage, milliamp, millivolt, OHM’s, frequency and min/max readings), Oscilloscope (AC/DC voltage and amperage, milliamp, millivolt, OHM’s, frequency and min/max readings), Power Logger (AC connections), IR Camera (Take images and review them with the Fluke software), Calibration equipment (Calibration tester, dry blocks, etc.)
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to interpret and comprehend technical literature and print documentation (European, American, Italian).
  • Working knowledge of switchboards, McC’s, panel boards, control cabinets.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree in an Industrial Electrical technical field such as Automation Systems Technology or electrical Industrial or E&I Journeyman is preferred.
  • Obtaining and maintaining a Wisconsin state electrical license and continuing education may be required.
  • Obtaining calibration training and maintaining certification may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform electrical troubleshooting on PLCs, servos, and safety relays for bad components or faulty wiring.
  • Utilize computer (laptop/desktop) to troubleshoot and repair faulty networked components.
  • Work with switchboards, McC’s, panel boards, and control cabinets.
  • Perform calibration duties including acquiring and maintaining calibration training, calibrating flow meters, RTDs, thermocouples, pressure sensors, scales, etc., and documenting calibration results.
  • Assist with outside resources performing calibration.
  • Connect, set-up, and perform testing using electrical testing devices such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, power loggers, and IR cameras to troubleshoot plant issues.
  • Complete daily checklists for electrical start-up.
  • Update prints to reflect wiring changes.
  • Create and improve Preventative Maintenance (PM) schedules.
  • Participate in yearly plant shutdowns on the main electrical distribution systems.
  • Perform rebuilds of contactors.
  • Remove and install equipment.
  • Maintain a close working relationship with equipment operators and line team leaders.
  • Troubleshoot emergency equipment failures.
  • Abide by all plant rules and policies, including safety and GMP regulations, and perform good housekeeping practices.
  • Work with other maintenance technicians to increase their electrical skills.
  • Work in a team-based environment with all departments.
