About The Position

Salas O’Brien is seeking an Electrical Engineer who will be responsible for the design of various electrical systems, including but not limited to PLC control systems, SCADA/HMI solutions, low-voltage power distribution, networking and communications design, and process controls design within industrial and utility infrastructure spaces. Requirements

  • U.S. Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field, or the foreign degree equivalent
  • 2+ years of experience in the design of electrical systems for various types of industrial manufacturing facilities and utility infrastructure spaces
  • Experience with industrial instrumentation and controls
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Access, and Excel

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) is preferred
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and REVIT is preferred, but not required

Responsibilities

  • Execute projects with involvement from conceptual design through completion, working with other engineers and design team members.
  • Leverage knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), power distribution, network architecture design, and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems.
  • Perform calculations integral to the electrical systems design.
  • Design systems in accordance with the National Electric Code (NEC – NFPA70)
  • Prepare instrumentation datasheets and maintain an up-to-date instrument list.
  • Participate in and support design and/or coordination reviews with clients and other project team members.
  • Collaborate with and support engineers and project managers across various projects.
  • Work closely with vendors to support vendor-submitted data for technical reviews and production.
  • Oversee assigned project efforts to ensure adherence to budget and schedule.
  • Capable of increasing technical competency with experience and work ethic.
