About The Position

The Electrical Assembler is responsible for assisting in the wiring and assembly operations on a variety of sub-assemblies and electrical panels. The incumbent will utilize all required PPE (i.e. safety glasses, safety shoes, hearing protection) while performing the duties of this position. The employee works in a production environment and is occasionally exposed to work near moving mechanical parts, work in high places, fumes or airborne particles, and risk of electrical shock. The noise level is loud, but can be very loud, at times hearing protection is required. All employees are expected and encouraged to participate in safety and health program activities including the following: reporting hazards, unsafe work practices, and accidents immediately to their supervisor or a safety committee representative; wearing required personal protective equipment and participating in and supporting safety committee activities.

Requirements

  • Education equivalent to a high school diploma.
  • Mathematical skills that require the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide and to make metric system conversions.
  • Ability to read and understand manufacturing instructions.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite required.
  • Ability to collaborate with others (including in person) to proactively develop solutions.
  • Must be able to wear required PPE (i.e. safety glasses, safety shoes, hearing protection).

  • Travel preferred.
  • Ability to drive a forklift preferred.
  • Ability to navigate CAD documents preferred.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems preferred.
  • Ability to travel internationally and domestically preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting in the wiring and assembly operations on a variety of sub-assemblies and electrical panels.
  • Reading and following entry-level blueprints, shop orders, specifications, and other instructions in order to build and assemble parts and equipment in an accurate and timely fashion.
  • Layout pushbutton stations, assemble and wire.
  • Layout panels, drill and tap and assemble components.
  • Layout and assemble control panels.
  • Perform basic motor wiring.
  • Assemble and wire electric components.
  • Operate material handling equipment.
  • Utilize overhead crane and rigging procedures.
  • Maintain a clean work area.
  • Locate parts, stock parts, deburr and maintain workspace cleanliness.
  • Department clean up and improvement projects.
