Under general supervision, this position assembles and wires electrical components, subassemblies, and systems used in switchgear products. This role adheres to established procedures and work instructions to ensure assemblies satisfy quality, safety, and engineering specifications. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED, or equivalent experience, required
  • Experience using hand tools such as screwdrivers, crimpers, wire cutters, and tape measures
  • Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and work instructions is preferred
  • Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for working with small parts and wiring
  • Ability to follow detailed procedures with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Basic problem-solving skills and willingness to learn
  • Completes assigned tasks on time and meets efficiency expectations
  • Follows established safety, quality, and manufacturing procedures
  • Maintains regular and reliable attendance
  • Demonstrates teamwork, accountability, and a positive attitude
  • Communicates effectively with supervisors and team members
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks
  • Ability to lift, push, or pull materials in accordance with job requirements
  • Work is performed in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, electrical equipment, and moving machinery
  • Position classified as Medium Work, requiring exertion within defined weight limits

  • Prior experience in electrical assembly, wiring, or manufacturing preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Assemble electrical and electromechanical systems, frameworks, and enclosures employed in switchgear manufacturing
  • Perform point-to-point wiring between components following wiring prints, schematic diagrams, specification sheets, and Bills of Material (BOM)
  • Measure, cut, route, label, and terminate wire to specified lengths and standards
  • Install and connect electrical components such as terminal blocks, breakers, relays, control devices, and bus components
  • Review and interpret work orders, wiring diagrams, and schematics to identify materials and assembly instructions
  • Adjust, repair, or replace electrical components to resolve defects and ensure conformance to specifications
  • Identify, mark, and tag parts and assemblies for tracking, quality, and inventory purposes
  • Prepare finished products for shipment, including packaging, labeling, and minor touch-up work
  • Assist with loading or movement of completed assemblies when required
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and workstations in accurate working condition
  • Perform housekeeping duties to maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures, attend safety meetings, and accurately use required personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Support continuous improvement efforts and maintain quality and efficiency expectations
