About The Position

Perform routine maintenance checks and troubleshoot electrical malfunctions in marine equipment and systems. Test finished electrical units to ensure they meet safety and performance standards. Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics to guide installation and repair work. Requirements

  • 1-3 years in an electrical wiring compacity, marine experience highly preferred
  • Ability to diagnose and repair electrical issues.
  • Knowledge of programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) for automating and controlling electrical systems.
  • Understanding of power distribution systems and their maintenance
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Proven problem solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Broad range of skill & working knowledge of work tasks plus working knowledge of related tasks.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Must understand basic terminology such as OSHA, DEP, and other regulatory agencies.
  • Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment where designated, including but not limited to safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Perform basic and advanced electrical work, including motor wiring, dash wiring, and panel wiring.
  • Use blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics to guide installation and repair work.
  • Conduct tests on finished electrical units to ensure they meet safety and performance standards.
  • Identify and fix electrical malfunctions in marine equipment and systems.
  • Work with team members to solve problems and follow all safety protocols and regulations.
  • Willing and able to be cross-functionally trained throughout the workstation to cover and fill in for absenteeism.
  • Must be willing to work extra hours required to assure timely completion of critical projects.
