About The Position

This role involves performing various electrical tasks, including installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems and components. The apprentice will work under the direction of a supervisor, adhering to safety protocols and building codes. Key responsibilities include interpreting blueprints, using hand and power tools, testing electrical connections, and maintaining electrical equipment.

Requirements

  • Must be able to read and interpret prints, drawings, schematics and plans.
  • Knowledge of Industrial Electrician hand tools, power tools and layout tools.
  • Must be able to meet all physical demands and pre-employment conditions.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Must be able to work at heights and be able to climb ladders and stairways and work off of platforms.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical construction processes.
  • Must be able to follow instructions correctly.
  • Must be able to make it to work on time and work the designated schedule and any overtime as needed.
  • Must pass a drug screen.
  • Must pass a background check.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret prints, drawings, schematics, and plans.
  • Examine blueprints, sketches, diagrams, building plans, and specifications to determine locations of circuits, outlets, load centers, panel boards, wires, components, and other equipment.
  • Inspect, examine, select, and gather materials and tools to ensure proper operation.
  • Inspect all designated work areas for hazards and obstructions.
  • Maintain the wiring and control equipment through which electricity flows.
  • Maintain electrical equipment and machines.
  • Maintain, fix, repair, and upgrade existing electrical systems and components such as circuit breakers, fuses, switches, wire, motors, transformers, generators, and tools.
  • Adhere to state and local building/electrical codes.
  • Use hand and power tools such as conduit benders, screwdrivers, pliers, knives, hacksaws, wire strippers, drills, and saws.
  • Use equipment to test connections and ensure capability such as ammeters, ohmmeters, voltmeters, and harmonics testers.
  • Observe and comply with all safety and project rules.
  • Follow direction from supervisor.
  • Perform other duties as required.
