SkillBridge- Electrical and Instrumentation Technician, Expression of Interest
About The Position
Nevada Gold Mines is excited to announce an opportunity for transitioning service members by offering a SkillBridge opportunity for an Electrical and Instrumentation Technician. This program provides an opportunity to utilize skills and knowledge pertaining to the Electrical and Instrumentation field within a mining environment. Participants will gain exposure to a wide range of operations, including underground, surface, and process facilities. Participants will work alongside experienced tradespeople and mentors, gaining practical experience with equipment and systems critical to safe and efficient mining operations.
Requirements
- Ability to read blueprints.
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical and instrumentation circuits.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with PLC control, troubleshooting and basic programming.
- Experience with variable frequency drives (VFDs).
Responsibilities
- Safely performing preventative maintenance, installation, and troubleshooting of electrical and instrumentation systems used in mining operations, including power distribution centers, switchgear, motors, motor controls, process controls, and instrumentation.
- Following all safety procedures.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
