About The Position

This temporary position supports the Utilities and Energy Management department's ongoing growth, which involves multiple future upgrades and construction projects. The role is expected to continue until May 31, 2027, and is benefits-eligible. The selected candidate must possess a valid/current Texas driver's license with a clean driving record.

Requirements

  • High school graduation or GED.
  • At least 2-years of related apprentice-level experience in the operation and maintenance of electrical, instrumentation and control systems for mechanical, electrical and industrial equipment.
  • Hold a current Texas apprentice electrician license or attain one within 3-months of hire on date.
  • Valid/current Texas driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Class "C" operator's driver's license.
  • Provide a current three year driving record from the current state of residence.
  • Obtain a Texas driver's license within 30 days of becoming a Texas resident (if not currently a Texas resident).

Nice To Haves

  • At least 4-years of related apprentice level experience in the operation and maintenance of electrical, instrumentation and control systems for mechanical, electrical and industrial equipment in a power and chill water production environment.
  • Graduation/certification from a relevant trade school.
  • Texas Journeyman Electrician License.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in performing journey-level installation, retrofit, and modification of low and medium-voltage circuit breakers and switchgear, lighting, battery equipment, motors, motor starters, VFD's, soft-starters, PLCs, DCS, UPSs, and ATS systems.
  • Performs other electrical and controls-related tasks in a power and chill water production environment.
  • Maintains compliance with the National Electric Code.
