About The Position

This temporary position supports the Utilities and Energy Management department's ongoing growth, which will involve multiple upgrades and construction projects. The role assists in the installation, retrofit, and modification of various electrical and control systems within a power and chill water production environment, ensuring compliance with the National Electric Code.

Requirements

  • High school graduation or GED.
  • At least 2-years of related apprentice-level experience in the operation and maintenance of electrical, instrumentation and control systems for mechanical, electrical and industrial equipment.
  • Hold a current Texas apprentice electrician license or attain one within 3-months of hire on date.
  • Valid/current Texas driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Class "C" operator's driver's license.
  • Provide a current three year driving record from the current state of residence.
  • If not currently a Texas resident, a Texas driver's license must be obtained within 30 days of becoming a Texas resident.

Nice To Haves

  • At least 4-years of related apprentice level experience in the operation and maintenance of electrical, instrumentation and control systems for mechanical, electrical and industrial equipment in a power and chill water production environment.
  • Graduation/certification from a relevant trade school.
  • Texas Journeyman Electrician License.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in performing journey-level installation, retrofit, and modification of low and medium-voltage circuit breakers and switchgear, lighting, battery equipment, motors, motor starters, VFD's, soft-starters, PLCs, DCS, UPSs, and ATS systems.
  • Performs other electrical and controls-related tasks in a power and chill water production environment.
  • Maintains compliance with the National Electric Code.
