About The Position

As an Electrical and Automation Technician, you will play an essential role in the reliability, availability, and continuous improvement of electrical infrastructure and control systems at a critical industrial site. You will actively participate in maintenance, troubleshooting, work planning, technical coordination, and project execution in a dynamic and collaborative environment. A structured training and mentorship period will allow you to progressively develop your autonomy and expertise. Complete mastery of all systems is not required at hire – we will invest in your professional development to enable you to grow into a leading technical role at JLL.

Requirements

  • DEC in industrial electronics, industrial automation, or electrical engineering with relevant experience; OR DEP in electromechanics or industrial electricity with relevant experience
  • Analytical mindset and troubleshooting aptitude with technical curiosity and desire to learn
  • Organizational skills, priority management, and ability to work in a team
  • Good communication skills and commitment to safety, quality, and reliability
  • Valid driver's license
  • Physical ability to perform job duties including frequent travel, standing work, access to different levels, and handling of loads
  • Availability for on-call rotation (approximately one week in four, 24/7) and occasional availability outside normal hours during planned shutdowns or major work

Nice To Haves

  • C license or in process of obtaining
  • Knowledge of medium voltage networks and protection systems
  • Experience with UPS, generators, PLC, HMI, SCADA, and industrial networks
  • Experience in instrumentation and control in a critical industrial environment
  • Knowledge of CSA Z462 standard
  • Thermography certification
  • Oral and/or written interactions with tenants or external partners based outside Quebec (for example, service providers, law firms, peers, bankers, brokerage firms, credit analysis firms, credit agencies, non-French-speaking clients, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the maintenance, troubleshooting, and inspection of electrical infrastructure (120/208 V to 120 kV networks, transformers, circuit breakers, protective relays, UPS, emergency generators)
  • Plan and perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance; prepare planned shutdowns, lockout procedures, and recommissioning
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, calibrate, and commission automation, control, and instrumentation systems (PLC, HMI, SCADA, sensors, transmitters)
  • Provide technical oversight of work performed by specialized contractors and participate in site meetings, inspections, and compliance testing
  • Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and team members to resolve technical issues and improve facility reliability
  • Maintain up-to-date maintenance records, perform failure analyses, and participate in continuous improvement of work methods
  • Strictly comply with health and safety procedures, lockout protocols, electrical safety standards, as well as the Canadian Electrical Code and applicable CSA standards
