About The Position

This role involves assisting in the non-technical construction of electric substations, performing ground-level job functions, and supporting substation rebuilds. The helper will also be involved in preventative maintenance, repairs, and testing of various electrical apparatus, demonstrating proper care and use of tools and personal protective equipment, and utilizing basic electric instruments. Additionally, the position includes assisting with loading and unloading trucks and equipment, performing TTR and megger testing, assisting with switching and restoring service on distribution lines and substations, and conducting PCB testing and oil filtering. Other duties as assigned are also part of the role.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED Certificate
6-12 months experience in electrical field
Requires a Valid Driver's License or CDL Learner's Permit, Class "A" (subject to motor vehicle review)
Learners permit is to be validated to CDL License within (6) months from date of employment.

Knowledge in utility operations preferred
Navajo Speaking desired.

Responsibilities

Assists in the non-technical construction of substations.
Performs ground level job functions as required.
Assists substation crew in substation rebuild.
Assists with preventative maintenance, repairs and tests on distribution transformers, reclosers and other line protection apparatus.
Demonstrates the proper care and use of tools and personal protective equipment.
Utilizes basic electric instruments.
Assists in loading and unloading trucks, tool van, pole trailer, wire trailer, and warehouse trucks.
Assists in TTR and megger testing of various types of transformers.
Assists in switching and restoring service on distribution lines and substations.
Assists in PCB testing and oil filtering.
Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
