About The Position

The Electric Power Generation (EPG) Field Technician position is responsible for accurately diagnosing, troubleshooting and repairing basic operational failures to electrical generator systems and related basic engine failures at customer sites. Carter Machinery offers a $10,000 sign-on bonus for experienced EPG Field Service Technician new hires. Requirements

  • Minimum of three years' relevant Electrical Power Generation (EPG)/electronics field experience required to be eligible for the $10,000 sign-on bonus. Candidates with less than 3 years’ Electrical Power Generation (EPG)/electronics field experience are eligible for a $2,000 sign-on bonus.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Excellent mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to interact professionally with customers and all levels of personnel within the organization.
  • Strong communicator with excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Ability to perform well under stressful situations.
  • Ability to demonstrate the ability to learn and apply new knowledge.
  • Self-directed and well-organized with the ability to prioritize workload while providing excellent customer service.
  • Excellent driving record required with the ability to obtain a CDL and/or DOT certification.
  • Ability to work additional hours as required and travel out of town, including out of the country to meet customers’ demands.
  • Proficient in the use of technical software, databases and manuals.
  • Previous field environment experience.
  • Diagnosing and troubleshooting basic engine failures and performing light mechanical repairs to electrical generator systems and related equipment.
  • High school diploma or GED, required.
