About The Position

Our employer partner, a company operating in technical services and industrial equipment repair, is currently looking to add an Electric Motor Rewind Technician to their team! Our employer partner is seeking an Electric Motor Rewind Technician to support the repair, rewinding, and maintenance of electric motors. This role is ideal for someone with hands-on experience working with both AC and DC motors, transformers, and motor troubleshooting. The position involves diagnosing issues, performing rewinding services, reassembling motors to original specifications, and helping ensure equipment meets industry and safety standards.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as an Electric Motor Rewind Technician, with strong experience in AC and DC motor repair and rewinding
  • Ability to work with various types of motors, including induction motors, synchronous motors, and transformers
  • Knowledge of electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, connections, and motor testing procedures
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to identify and resolve electrical and mechanical issues
  • Experience using motor testing equipment such as insulation resistance testers, multimeters, and megohmmeters
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and motor specifications
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety
  • Good communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • High school diploma or equivalent required

Nice To Haves

  • Technical certification or trade school training in electrical motors or a related field is an asset
  • Additional certifications or training in electrical or mechanical engineering
  • Previous experience in a motor repair shop or industrial environment
  • Knowledge of motor control systems and variable frequency drives (VFDs)

Responsibilities

  • Perform rewinding services for various motor types, including low- and high-voltage motors
  • Diagnose and repair AC and DC electric motors to meet industry standards and operational requirements
  • Perform rewinding services for various transformer types, including single- and three-phase transformers
  • Inspect and test motors to ensure functionality and compliance with safety standards
  • Rewind and reassemble motors to original specifications, including insulation, coil winding, and assembly
  • Use tools and equipment to carry out motor repairs and diagnostics
  • Maintain accurate records of completed work, including repairs and rewinding procedures
  • Follow safety procedures and regulations when working with electrical components
  • Work closely with team members to complete repair jobs efficiently and on time
  • Provide recommendations to clients on motor improvements and preventive maintenance strategies
  • Perform other skilled or non-skilled duties as directed by the supervisor
