We have an exciting opportunity for an Electric Motor Rewind Technician to join our team in Truro, NS. We are committed to attracting skilled talent in Atlantic Canada and are flexible in how we achieve that—this may include: Providing entry-level opportunities to individuals with strong technical aptitude (electrical, mechanical, or related backgrounds) who demonstrate a willingness and capacity to learn and/or Source Atlantic will provide comprehensive on-the-job training and development opportunities to candidates who demonstrate strong potential, enabling them to build the technical skills and experience required for success in the role and/or Providing Relocation Support to skilled candidates already based in Canada The Electric Motor Rewind Technician diagnoses, troubleshoots, repairs, and tests large AC and DC rotating electrical equipment, including motors with random or form-wound stators, rotors, and armatures. The role includes electrical and mechanical testing of repaired equipment to confirm safe operation, quality, and performance, as well as investigating failures to determine root causes and recommend fixes. Work is done as part of a team in a repair shop environment, following established safety procedures at all times.

Requirements

  • Mechanical or electrical aptitude with a strong interest in hands-on work.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a shop environment.
  • Strong interest in learning new technical skills and taking on hands-on challenges.
  • Good attention to detail and a focus on doing work accurately.
  • Commitment to safe work practices and following all safety procedures.

Nice To Haves

  • Any experience with AC and DC motors is considered a strong asset.
  • Experience using electrical test equipment and instruments for basic to advanced testing is an asset; training can/will be provided.
  • Familiarity with electro-mechanical rotating equipment such as pumps or similar machinery is an asset.
