Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 5 Years of Motor Repair experience required.
  • Mechanical aptitude; multi-craft experience a plus.
  • Proficient in using precision measuring tools (e.g., micrometers, calipers, dial indicators).
  • Strong understanding of mechanical fits, tolerances, and alignment procedures.
  • Coachable and eager to learn.
  • Familiar with API, ANSI, and OEM standards related to rotating equipment.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Self-starter with a positive attitude and organized work habits.
  • Valid driver's license; able to pass drug test and background check.
  • Physical ability to sit, stand, and bend for extended periods.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Performs duties assigned under the direction of Shop Manager to ensure the team is aligned to the goals and objectives for the team for each day.
  • Perform and oversee the disassembly, inspection, repair, and reassembly of pumps, compressors, turbines, gearboxes, and related rotating equipment.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical issues and lead root cause analysis on equipment failures.
  • Interpret technical drawings, OEM manuals, and repair specifications.
  • Ensure proper documentation of repair findings, measurements, tolerances, and parts used.
  • Perform Hydro and Paint of repaired and new assembly equipment.
  • Represent OTC professionally and build strong customer relationships.
  • Follow safety protocols and stay current through ongoing training.
  • Handle emergency service calls with speed and precision to keep operations moving.
  • Be flexible and ready to take on additional responsibilities as needed.
  • Learn through classroom and hands-on training while following direction from experienced mechanics.
  • Use and learn computer systems for training, documentation, and communication of work performed.
