About The Position

The Electric Line Technician Trouble Truck is a fully qualified Electric Line Technician. The employee will be required to diagnose and remedy the electric service problems of customers. Tasks may require other employees to work under the direction of the Electric Line Technician IV. Responsible for the activities of employees, material and equipment associate with work assignments.

Requirements

Six years’ experience as an Electric Line Technician or the equivalent.
Demonstrate the ability to perform the tasks of the job.
Must have and maintain valid CDL.
Demonstrate special ability and resourcefulness in diagnosing and making safe electrical troubleshooting calls.
Requires moderate to heavy physical exertion, often under adverse working conditions.
Work involves the exercise of independent judgement within prescribed instructions and/or standard procedures.
The tasks require a high degree of complex responsibilities.
Requires close mental and visual concentration, coordination, and dexterity occasionally in hazardous conditions for sustained periods.
Performance of tasks requires extreme attention to hazardous conditions.
The employee often works alone.
The work regularly exposes the employee to hazardous situations.
Individuals are responsible for care of Company equipment.
Requires regular customer contact and regular contact with other departments.
Will be required to show proof of training hours and certifications.

Responsibilities

Diagnose and remedy electric service problems of customers.
Direct other employees, material, and equipment associated with work assignments.
Perform a variety of operations such as use of hand tools, climbing, operating equipment and vehicles under varying conditions.
Recognize and work within appropriate procedures for hazardous conditions.
Exhibit care while performing work on customer’s premises.
Work independently, often on tasks of a complex nature, with occasional supervision if necessary.
Provide direction on routine and complex jobs within the job scope.
