About The Position

Bridgestone HosePower, LLC is North America's Premier Hydraulic and Industrial Hose Sales and Service Company. Headquartered in Orange Park, Florida we offer Counter Service, Mobile Hose Repair, and state of the art OEM Centers throughout the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Due to current, as well as projected growth, HosePower is seeking a mechanically inclined, self-motivated Electric Forklift Technician. The Electric Forklift Technician ensures that forklifts operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with manufacturer specifications and safety regulations. You will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining electric-powered forklifts and related material handling equipment. This role is ideal for those with a hands-on approach, a passion for equipment maintenance, and a commitment to safety compliance.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in forklift repair or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years in forklift or mechanical maintenance; experience with electric forklifts is ideal.
  • Forklift operator certification, ASE, BAS, or related technical credentials may be required.
  • Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in confined spaces.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical/hydraulic schematics
  • Proficiency with hand and power tools
  • Knowledge of battery systems and charging equipment
  • Problem-solving and attention to detail.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn new technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and resolve faults in electric motors, battery systems, control circuits, and auxiliary systems such as hydraulics, brakes, and steering.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance, including cleaning, lubrication, and inspection of electrical and mechanical components.
  • Service and maintain lead-acid or lithium-ion batteries, charging systems, and related electrical accessories.
  • Change ballasts, fuses, and light switches; troubleshoot and repair electrical schematics; rewire systems as needed.
  • Overhaul and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems to ensure proper lifting and control functions.
  • Disassemble, rebuild, and test forklift components such as transmissions, motors, and drive systems.
  • Follow OSHA and other safety regulations; ensure all equipment meets safety standards.
  • Keep accurate records of repairs, parts used, and maintenance activities.
  • Work with supervisors, operators, and other technicians to improve repair processes and equipment reliability.
