This position involves implementing the school's mission, philosophy, and instructional standards. The teacher will assist administration with policies, protect students and equipment, maintain accurate records, and strive for professional competence. The role requires establishing cooperative relationships, maintaining open communication with students, colleagues, and parents, and performing other assigned tasks. The teacher will also work cooperatively with other employees and contractors to create a seamless educational environment and be available for students and parents outside of instructional hours when needed. Instructionally, the teacher will meet and instruct assigned students, plan a program of study that meets individual needs, create a conducive learning environment, prepare lessons, encourage high standards, utilize positive behavior interventions, maintain classroom order, guide the learning process towards curriculum standards, employ various instructional techniques, assess and document student accomplishments, document learning problems and seek specialist assistance, meet the needs of special program students, and plan/supervise assignments for educational assistants and volunteers.
