About The Position

The Pima County Elections Department is hiring temporary employees for the Elections Aide position. This role involves processing early ballots, manually counting envelopes against reports, and completing daily logs. The position requires strong written and verbal communication skills, the ability to work as part of a team, and availability for on-call work and overtime. Essential functions include processing early ballots for tabulation, preparing election supplies and voting machines, making minor repairs to voting equipment, loading and unloading election supplies, and transporting election materials.

Requirements

  • Must be a registered voter with current registration in Pima County
  • Apply strong written and verbal communication skills to convey information effectively
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Valid driver license is required at time of application
  • Valid AZ driver license is required at time of appointment
  • Must be available to work on-call, as needed, and work overtime for extended periods of time
  • Must be a current registered voter in Pima County
  • Physical and sensory abilities to be determined by position
  • Constantly required to exchange accurate information
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office machinery
  • Constantly observes details at close range
  • Frequently remains in a stationary position
  • Action Activity - bending, climbing, kneeling, reaching, squatting and stooping
  • Motion Activity - grasping
  • Hearing Activity - in noisy areas and behind themselves
  • Speaking Activity - in person, on the phone, and on a cell
  • Vision - may be required to operate a motor vehicle, distinguish colors, have depth perception and peripheral vision
  • Occasionally moves office equipment weighing up to 25 pounds

Responsibilities

  • Process early ballots for tabulation

  • Transport and receive election ballots, returns, and precinct supplies
