About The Position

Openwork is hiring Election Training Specialists to support election operations throughout Harris County. This opportunity is ideal for someone with teaching or training experience who is confident presenting to groups, communicates professionally, and can adapt to a fast-paced environment. You'll help prepare election workers by delivering training, answering questions, and providing support at various locations throughout Harris County.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1+ year of teaching or training experience required.
• Must meet eligibility requirements to register to vote in the State of Texas.
• Strong public speaking and presentation skills.
• Comfortable speaking and presenting in front of groups.
• Strong communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and comfortable learning new computer systems.
• Ability to type at least 30 words per minute.
• Strong organization and ability to prioritize responsibilities.
• Dependable, adaptable, and able to work independently.
• Ability to remain professional in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be available to work weekends, overtime, and extended hours when required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver classroom and field-based training to election workers.
• Explain procedures and training materials clearly and accurately.
• Provide professional customer service and technical guidance.
• Answer questions and assist election workers as needed.
• Travel to training and polling locations throughout Harris County.
• Assist with time-sensitive needs during election periods.
• Maintain professionalism and impartiality.
• Support additional election-related duties as needed.
