About The Position

The ELECT Outreach Worker acts as a liaison among pregnant and parenting students, parents/guardians, local agencies, and ASD and community-based student supports providers. The goals of the ELECT program are high school graduation and future economic self-sufficiency for these students and their children. The Allentown School District is committed to excellence and celebrates the culturally responsive, athletic, and artistic range of talent in its schools. ASD students originate from 51 countries and speak 26 languages.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in education, social services, or related field
Experience in program management
Demonstrated ability to work with schools and community
Ability to work independently, and to interact well with others
Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
Proficient in technology required for communication and meeting the expectations of the program
Reflect the ethnic and cultural diversity of the community
Demonstrate a working knowledge of the available community resources
Have experience working with low-income families
Have a knowledge base of child development and child-rearing techniques
Exhibit professionalism
Be enthusiastic about learning as well as teaching
Show acceptance, empathy and positive regard
Demonstrate a personal commitment to the philosophy, vision and mission of the ELECT Program
Have good organizational skills
Maintain accurate records
