About The Position

J&Y Law is a rapidly growing Plaintiff's Elder Abuse, Medical Malpractice, and Personal Injury law firm located in Los Angeles, California. We are seeking an experienced Elder Abuse & Medical Malpractice Litigation Paralegal to join our litigation team. This position is ideal for a highly organized and detail-oriented paralegal who is passionate about advocating for vulnerable clients and has substantial experience handling complex medical malpractice and elder abuse litigation matters. The successful candidate will play a critical role in supporting attorneys through all phases of litigation, from case inception through trial.

  • Experienced Elder Abuse & Medical Malpractice Litigation Paralegal

  • Substantial experience handling complex medical malpractice and elder abuse litigation matters
  • Extensive experience reviewing and organizing medical records
  • Extensive experience preparing discovery

  • Extensive experience supporting trial preparation in high-value litigation matters

Responsibilities

  • Obtain, organize, review, and summarize extensive medical records
  • Prepare detailed medical chronologies and treatment summaries
  • Analyze hospital, nursing home, assisted living, and physician records
  • Identify key liability, causation, and damages issues within medical records
  • Coordinate record collection from healthcare providers and facilities
  • Manage case files and maintain litigation deadlines
  • Draft pleadings, discovery requests and responses, subpoenas, meet-and-confer correspondence, and legal documents
  • Assist attorneys with depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and trial preparation
  • Prepare exhibit binders, witness files, and trial notebooks
  • Coordinate service of process and court filings
  • Prepare hearing and mediation materials
  • Track discovery deadlines and ensure timely compliance
  • Coordinate with medical experts, nursing experts, life care planners, and economists
  • Schedule expert reviews, depositions, and consultations
  • Compile records and supporting documentation for expert review
  • Assist in preparing expert disclosure packages
  • Maintain regular communication with clients and families
  • Gather case updates, supporting documentation, and treatment information
  • Provide compassionate and professional client service throughout the litigation process
