About The Position

Our client is looking for an Elastic Stack DevOps Engineer. This is a full-time position requiring a TS/SCI Clearance. The role involves designing, developing, and deploying solutions using the Elastic stack, ensuring system infrastructure and log data integrity, and working within a DoD environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a related discipline plus 8-12 years of prior relevant experience or Master’s with 6-10 years of prior relevant experience.
• Experience as a software developer, integrator, administrator, or similar technical role.
• Experience in scripting and automation (e.g., Python, Bash).
• 5 or more years of demonstrable experience designing, developing, and deploying solutions using the Elastic stack, including: Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana, and Beats.
• Experience with Grok patterns within Logstash and the usage of pattern file.
• Experience with Elastic stack security features, such as client authentication, SSL/TLS configuration, and role-based document filtering.
• Must be DoD-8570/8140 Level 2 compliant.
• Strong documentation skills with a proven ability to develop troubleshooting guides, standard operating procedures, architecture diagrams, etc.
• Highly autonomous, self-directed, and proactive when it comes to maintaining system infrastructure and log data integrity.
• Experience working with Agile tools such as Jira / Confluence etc.
• Experience with large systems, index lifecycle management, elastic snapshots to s3.
• Experience with Ansible.
• Familiarity with DoD environments and secure system practices.

Responsibilities

• Designing, developing, and deploying solutions using the Elastic stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana, and Beats).
• Implementing and managing Elastic stack security features, including client authentication, SSL/TLS configuration, and role-based document filtering.
• Utilizing Grok patterns within Logstash and managing pattern files.
• Maintaining system infrastructure and log data integrity.
• Developing troubleshooting guides, standard operating procedures, and architecture diagrams.
• Managing large systems, index lifecycle management, and elastic snapshots to S3.
• Working with Agile tools such as Jira/Confluence.
• Ensuring compliance with DoD-8570/8140 Level 2.
