ELAR QA/Proofreader
About The Position
CollegeSpring is seeking a Contract Proofreader to support the final stages of their ACT-aligned curriculum build. This role will review and proofread ELA instructional materials to ensure content is clear, grammatically sound, and aligned with the ACT® assessment. The contractor will participate in a project kick-off call, weekly check-ins, and other team meetings as needed to set goals, review work, and discuss progress with the curriculum team. They will communicate regularly with the Director of Digital Curriculum and Product Development regarding deadlines, feedback, and transparency on work progress. The proofreader will review lessons in Google Slides to ensure content accuracy, grammar/spelling error-free, consistent ACT-aligned objectives, pedagogical sense in slide animations and instructional flow, and assessment rigor and format in strategy and example slides. They will also proofread content in Google Docs using a structured template and flag inconsistencies between slides, objectives, notes, and the ACT.
Requirements
- Detail-oriented with a strong editorial eye
- Able to track multiple content issues (grammar, formatting, accuracy, alignment)
- Familiar with test design and secondary-level instructional content (ELA focus)
- Tech-savvy with confidence navigating: Google Slides, Google Sheets, Google Docs, and Monday.com
- Comfortable working independently and meeting deadlines on short timelines
- Ability to follow a detailed Proofreader Guide and apply feedback standards consistently across all materials
- Experience with the ACT®
Responsibilities
