About The Position

Under the direction of the Educational Supports and Intervention Supervisor, the ELA and Math Instructional Paraeducator works alongside a team to provide targeted instructional support to K–6th grade students with identified needs in Reading and Math. This position requires a dedicated individual who can deliver evidence-based tiered interventions and support data-driven decision-making within a Multi-Tiered System of Supports framework.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Demonstrated competency level (WorkKeys test or ETS Paraprofessional Assessment) for meeting highly qualified status, or an associate degree
Experience working with elementary-age students, particularly in academic intervention settings
Ability to assess and document student progress accurately and consistently
Demonstrated competence in the use of technology, including Google Workspace and digital applications
Ability to work one-on-one and in small groups with students across general and special education settings
Strong organizational, collaboration, and communication skills
Ability to work with various personality types and diverse learning needs

Nice To Haves

Associate degree or 60 college credits preferred
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with students and staff
Cultural competence and sensitivity to diverse student backgrounds, experiences, and needs
Willingness to engage in ongoing professional growth and implement research-based practices
Ability to receive feedback constructively and implement suggested changes
Experience using technology as an instructional tool
Knowledge of screening tools and ability to use data to identify student needs
Familiarity with evidence-based tiered interventions in Math and Reading
Knowledge of Common Core State Standards (CCSS) at the elementary level
Patience, flexibility, and a positive attitude when working with students who have diverse learning styles or challenging behaviors
Capacity to work effectively as part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary team

Responsibilities

Implement evidence-based tiered interventions in Math and Reading with fidelity, adapting support based on student response
Work with students identified as needing additional support based on classroom and screening data
Provide one-on-one and small group instruction using a variety of differentiated instructional strategies
Use screening tools to identify student needs and inform targeted intervention planning
Assess and document student progress; maintain accurate, detailed records for data review
Actively participate in team review meetings, share observations, and ask questions about student progress
Understand and adjust support strategies, when appropriate, in collaboration with the instructional team
Maintain consistent, clear communication with the intervention team and classroom teachers regarding student progress and needs
Establish and maintain standards of student behavior to provide a productive learning environment
Work independently and cooperatively using a variety of instructional strategies; demonstrate excellent work habits, reliability, and initiative
Maintain strict confidentiality regarding student information in accordance with FERPA regulations
Participate in professional development and team meetings as required
Perform other duties during Title-funded time as assigned by the ESI Supervisor, or Elementary Principal, only as allowed by federal legislation and approved by the regional consultant
