About The Position

As an EKG Tech, you will perform diagnostic electrocardiograms (EKGs) to assess cardiac function. Every day you will prepare patients, explain procedures, and accurately operate EKG machines to record heart activity, ensuring comfort and high-quality readings. To be successful, you will demonstrate strong technical proficiency, meticulous data collection, and excellent patient communication, contributing to accurate cardiac diagnostics. Demonstrates adherence to the Standards of Conduct Requirements. Completes and turns in the SOC acknowledgement card.Fulfills compliance education requirements as directed by the Compliance Department or Department Manager. Meets the requirements in all necessary systems including centralized scheduling and hospital information systems computer. Meets annual competency requirements prior to evaluation date, including incorporating defined age specific requirements as applicable. Receives physician's written request for electrocardiographic procedures and generates order per departmental procedure. Is responsible for performing electrocardiographic procedures with consideration on various age range like newborn (neonates), pediatrics, adolescents, adults, geriatrics and females of child bearing age. Is responsible for performing electrocardiographic procedures and coping with consideration on patients of all ethnic, socioeconomic, cultural and educational backgrounds. Ensures proper patient identification before performing prescribed procedure.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Minimum one year experience as an EKG Technician conducting a standard three channel 12 lead EKG.
  • Minimum one year experience conducting two and three channel holter monitor test.
  • Minimum one year experience conducting three channel holter scanning.
  • Minimum one year experience conducting treadmill exercise test.
  • Minimum one year experience conducting Dual Isotope nuclear stress test.
  • Minimum one year experience conducting pharmacologic stress testing.
  • Minimum one year experience conducting tilt table testing.
  • Basic Life Support - CPR certification.

Nice To Haves

  • Some college education.
  • Minimum one year experience in cardiovascular or electrocardiology transcription using a transcribing machine.
