About The Position

The EKG Tech performs routine electrocardiograms. The role includes providing care appropriate to the age-specific needs of the population served, filing patient reports, and assisting physicians with the HIS system. The technician may supervise or precept students, volunteers, or new employees.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Medical terminology knowledge.
• AHA BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine electrocardiograms (EKGs).
• Demonstrate knowledge and ability to care for the age-specific needs of the population served, as assessed through mandatory training and supervisor observation.
• File patient reports.
• Assist physicians with the HIS system.
• May supervise or precept students, volunteers, or new employees.
