About The Position

GAI Consultants, Inc. is seeking an EIT 2 to work with the Power Generation Business Sector on primarily Power Generation projects and when needed other regional projects. The successful candidate will be working out of the Louisville, KY office and will perform both design and monitoring tasks under the supervision of a licensed professional engineer. The candidate should have the desire and ability to travel to Project sites, as needed, primarily in the Midwest and Mid-Atlantic regions of the United States.

Requirements

  • B.S. or M.S. Engineering
  • Passed Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam and obtained engineer-in-training (EIT) or engineering-intern (EI) certification.
  • 2+ years of experience

  • Site Grading Plans
  • Erosion and Sediment Control Plans
  • Stormwater Management Plans
  • Hydrologic and Hydraulic / Drainage Plans
  • Utility Design and Relocation Plans
  • Maintenance and Protection of Traffic Plans
  • Geotechnical Investigations
  • Permit Applications (earth disturbance permits, building permits, land development plans, high occupancy permits, etc.)
  • Access Road Section Development
  • Construction Drawings, Specifications, and Quality Control Plans
  • Construction Cost Estimates
  • Owner's Engineer Support During Construction
  • Field Investigations
  • Daily/Weekly Construction Inspections
  • Earthwork Construction Quality Control
  • Compaction Testing
  • Concrete Testing
  • ESC Inspections
  • SWPPP Inspections
  • Environmental Monitoring
  • Performs basic design tasks.
  • Assists on tasks such as: field activities, material testing, CADD work, permit applications, and report writing.
  • Responsible for personal task management and adherence to deadlines and scope.
  • Receives close supervision on most aspects of assignments, particularly on difficult problems, and a general review of all aspects of work.
  • Receives mentorship from a licensed engineer.
  • Possesses basic oral and written communication skills.
  • Engages in few project stakeholder interactions.
