The EHS Technician is responsible for conducting scrap weigh-ins, documenting scrap types, and maintaining weight tickets. This role involves monitoring and replenishing spill kit supplies, assisting with spill cleanup, and obtaining TDEC compliance readings. The technician will support compliance with ISO 14001, including participation in audits. A key part of the role includes operating various equipment such as forklifts, skid steer loaders, and excavators after successful training. The position also requires maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the work area and plant, monitoring scrap containers for contamination, and cleaning up trash and debris across the site. Responsibilities extend to consolidating liquid waste in totes and drums, ensuring proper disposal of oily rags, segregating process and waste oils, and managing empty totes. The role requires the ability to obtain Hazmat Shipping by Ground (DOT) and RCRA Hazardous Waste Management certifications within the first year. All work must be performed safely and according to company standards, fostering good working relationships within the team and the organization. Regular attendance is essential, and the schedule involves overlapping with other EHS personnel for training and independent work, including weekend scrap operations. The technician will communicate compliance concerns, complete incident reports, and perform other duties as assigned.
