About The Position

The EHS Technician supports Nexus Circular's Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs at our McDonough facility. This entry-level position is ideal for individuals looking to build a career in environmental health and safety, regulatory compliance, and industrial operations. Working closely with Operations, Maintenance, and Quality teams, the EHS Technician assists with safety inspections, hazard identification, incident tracking, Process Safety Management (PSM) support, employee training, and maintaining a safe and compliant workplace. This role plays a key part in fostering a strong safety culture and supporting continuous improvement initiatives throughout the facility.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Basic understanding of workplace safety principles (training provided).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Willingness to learn OSHA regulations, Process Safety Management (PSM) requirements, and EHS programs.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Proactive attitude with a desire to learn and grow.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree in Safety, Environmental Science, Occupational Health, or a related field preferred.
  • 1–3 years of experience in manufacturing, warehouse, construction, industrial operations, or a safety-related environment preferred.
  • Recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
  • OSHA 10-Hour Certification.
  • First Aid/CPR/AED Certification.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine safety inspections of production, warehouse, and facility areas.
  • Identify hazards and ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Report unsafe conditions and assist with implementing corrective actions.
  • Support internal and external audits by maintaining audit-ready conditions and documentation.
  • Review and triage Hazard Identification (Hazard ID) reports.
  • Assist in documenting workplace incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions.
  • Support incident investigations, including data collection and follow-up activities.
  • Track corrective actions to ensure timely completion.
  • Support Process Safety Management (PSM) activities, including action item tracking, documentation, audits, and process safety initiatives.
  • Assist with coordination and delivery of EHS training programs, including new hire orientation, PPE training, and general safety topics.
  • Reinforce safe work practices through daily interaction with employees.
  • Support Safety Committee meetings and related initiatives.
  • Maintain EHS records, including: Training logs, Inspection reports, Hazard ID follow-up documentation, OSHA-related records, Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
  • Ensure all documentation is accurate, organized, and audit-ready.
  • Assist with preparation of routine safety reports and metrics.
  • Assist with chemical inventory management and SDS maintenance.
  • Support the proper handling, storage, and disposal of materials in accordance with company procedures.
  • Monitor PPE usage and inventory levels and assist with PPE program administration.
  • Conduct routine facility walkthroughs to observe work practices and identify potential risks.
  • Provide real-time feedback to employees regarding safe work behaviors.
  • Partner with Operations and Maintenance teams to address safety concerns.
  • Participate in initiatives designed to reduce incidents and improve safety performance.
  • Provide recommendations for improving safety processes and procedures.
  • Promote a positive, proactive safety culture throughout the facility.
