About The Position

Strive Pharmacy is a personalized compounding pharmacy dedicated to providing individualized care. We are growing and seeking individuals who share our commitment to a human-centered approach in healthcare. The EHS Technician is a direct, in-house employee focused exclusively on the safety, security, and compliance of Strive’s premises. This is a strictly unarmed position, emphasizing observation, reporting, and emergency response coordination. The role involves utilizing verbal de-escalation techniques, conducting facility patrols, monitoring life safety systems, auditing contractor safety, and serving as the primary contact for critical utility and emergency reporting.

Requirements

  • Must strictly comply with the requirement that this role is 100% unarmed at all times. The carrying of firearms or any other weapons while on duty is explicitly prohibited.
  • Must remain a direct employee of Strive, working exclusively on Strive premises or in direct connection with Strive's business operations.
  • Must successfully complete and maintain certification in Strive’s comprehensive internal security and EHS training program, which includes: Legal authority and limitations of the role (Observe & Report mandate), Verbal de-escalation tactics and conflict resolution, Strict boundaries regarding the use of force and prohibition of physical intervention, Emergency response, evacuation procedures, and first aid/CPR, DEA protocols and controlled substance access monitoring.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Exceptional verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to remain calm and de-escalate high-stress situations.
  • Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to write clear, concise, and objective incident reports.

Nice To Haves

  • Further education in criminal justice, occupational health and safety, or a related field is a plus.
  • Prior experience in loss prevention, safety compliance, or an observe-and-report security role is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Continuously monitor the facility and grounds to identify safety risks, unauthorized access, or policy violations.
  • Act exclusively in an observe-and-report capacity during security or safety incidents.
  • Utilize approved verbal de-escalation techniques to diffuse tense situations and gain voluntary compliance from employees or visitors.
  • Adhere strictly to the mandate that this role does not possess—and must never exercise—the authority to physically intervene, restrain, or temporarily detain any employee, visitor, or intruder.
  • Perform active CCTV monitoring and routine historical footage review (via CCURE/BMS platforms) to identify security vulnerabilities, safety violations, or unauthorized access.
  • Act as the primary after-hours and active-shift monitor for the Building Management System (BMS). Respond to and report alarms related to HVAC failures, cleanroom pressure differential drops, and temperature/humidity excursions.
  • Act as the EHS "boots on the ground" for contractor oversight. Audit contractor compliance regarding required PPE, Safe Work Permits (e.g., Confined Space, Hot Work, LOTO), and report safety deviations or "near misses" immediately.
  • Monitor access to high-security areas, including Schedule III controlled substance zones, ensuring strict adherence to Strive’s documented security plans and DEA registration protocols.
  • Conduct routine safety walkthroughs to identify and mitigate environmental, health, and safety hazards.
  • Ensure daily operations comply with internal loss prevention policies.
  • Conduct routine checks and log fuel levels for the facility’s emergency backup generator diesel tanks to ensure 24/7 readiness in the event of power loss.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for coordinating with local law enforcement, fire departments, and emergency medical responders when incidents escalate beyond verbal resolution, require physical intervention, or involve medical emergencies.
  • Serve as the designated on-site incident coordinator during medical emergencies, fire alarms, or chemical spills, guiding first responders to the scene and facilitating building evacuations.
  • Assist in executing facility evacuation and emergency response procedures.
  • Document all incidents, hazards, and daily activities in detailed, objective shift reports.
