About The Position
The Summer Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Intern at Terex – Advance will assist in developing safety programs, conducting workplace audits, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Key tasks include updating safety procedures, assisting with incident investigations, conducting hazardous waste management, and performing risk assessments to minimize workplace hazards and support sustainability initiatives.
Requirements
- Current student pursuing a degree in Safety Management, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Excellent written/verbal communication.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to walk industrial/manufacturing sites frequently.
- Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 35-50 lbs.
Nice To Haves
- Basic understanding of OSHA regulations and environmental health concepts is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Conduct routine safety inspections, walk production floors to identify hazards, and ensure compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations.
- Help update safety policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and emergency response protocols.
- Support EH&S staff in tracking incidents, documenting findings, and conducting root cause analysis.
- Collect data for environmental reports (waste management, air emissions), manage safety metrics in Excel, and maintain chemical inventories.
- Develop educational materials and deliver safety training to employees.
