About The Position

The Emergency Management, Fire and Explosion Subject Matter Expert will develop and sustain programs and processes that support Gas Power Business Operations and the EHS Center of Excellence, with a strong focus on GE Vernova Life Saving Rules across all Gas Power business units. In this role, you will be a key member of the Gas Power Business Operations Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Center of Excellence (COE), working closely with EHS value streams, supply chain operations, regional EHS leaders, and cross-functional teams. This position reports to the GE Vernova Gas Power EHS Subject Matter Experts Team Leader.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or Higher-level Safety Diploma from an accredited college or university or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience working in EHS Manufacturing and Service Operations.
  • High Risk Operations, Crisis and Emergency Management sectors

  • Technical Certifications in the applicable EHS High Risk Operations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement management system programs and processes to identify and control Fire and Explosion risks, and to ensure effective, rapid emergency and crisis response across all Gas Power business units.
  • Create and maintain procedures, risk identification tools, reduction/mitigation methods, training, drills, and investigation processes to reduce risk, ensure regulatory compliance, and meet GE Vernova and customer expectations in partnership with Gas Power Business Operations, Security/Crisis Management, and the GE Vernova EHS organization.
  • Develop, update, and implement GE Vernova Gas Power EHS programs and procedures to identify and control risk, ensure regulatory compliance, and support Gas Power business priorities.
  • Provide technical EHS support, guidance, and direction on Emergency Management, Fire and Explosion–related hazards and risk areas (e.g., Chemical Management, Confined Space Entry, Electrical, Energy Isolation/LOTO, Mechanical Lifting, Work at Height, Aerial Lifts & Forklifts, Machine Safety, Powered Hand Tools).
  • Support the sustainable implementation and adherence to GE Vernova Life Saving Rules.
  • Analyze EHS data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop and drive strategies to eliminate or reduce EHS risks based on identified trends and performance metrics.
  • Support the development and effective execution of the Business Operations EHS COE strategy.
  • Collaborate across multiple functions to design and implement programs that strengthen a proactive safety culture.
  • Lead and contribute to incident investigation teams to identify contributing and root causes and ensure robust corrective and preventive actions are defined and implemented.
  • Support the GE Vernova Gas Power EHS “read across” process to share lessons learned and best practices.
  • Participate in Gas Power and GE Vernova risk-based auditing programs to assess Life Saving Rules, regulatory compliance, and company EHS & Quality Management System requirements across business units.
  • Travel to supply chain, New Units, project, and services sites to validate and support implementation of Emergency Management, Fire and Explosion procedures and processes.
  • Apply Lean methodology to drive simplification, standardization, and continuous improvement.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
