Requirements

  • Must be a high-energy self-starter, results-oriented, proactive and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be a team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to effectively build relationships with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Experience with MS Office products required, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet Explorer, and Outlook.
  • Be available for occasional weekends, and occasional work on opposite shift.
  • Ability to recognize hazards, develop countermeasures, and coach employees is essential.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety & Health, or engineering degree, or 2 years of full time EHS experience in a large manufacturing facility.

Responsibilities

  • Drive EHS excellence as a core value and promote an enthusiastic safety culture at all levels of the site.
  • Maintain a strong floor presence, identifying, reporting, and addressing hazards.
  • Coach and instruct employees on safe operating procedures and ergonomic best practices.
  • Initiate and lead post incident investigations, helping to determine root cause of incidents.
  • Analyze safety incident data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Administer training on various safety and environmental topics to small and large groups of employees.
  • Lead ergonomic improvement teams, identifying risk and helping develop solutions to reduce those risks.
  • Perform Connect & Engage observations and submit Concern Reports on a weekly basis.
  • Perform Job Safety Analyses, Machine Guarding and PPE assessments.
  • Perform environmental and sustainability activities, such as water sampling, air permit audits, and team support.
  • Perform industrial hygiene activities such as air and noise sampling, as well as implementing controls.
  • Participate in or track Management of Change reviews.
  • Being able to identify safety and ergonomic concerns.
  • Develop, update, and implement EHS programs tailored the facility needs.
  • Other duties as assigned.
