About The Position

The EHS Manager for GSI Services is responsible for Providing day-to-day EHS support for site activities across all GSI in Canada.

Requirements

  • 5+ years EHS experience, with exposure to several EHS areas in a Services environment
  • Knowledge of North American EHS legislation
  • Ability to travel up to 75%, as required.
  • Fluent both in French and English
  • Work overtime as site requires

Responsibilities

  • Develop strong working relationship with operational and project managers in the region to drive the expected EHS culture across all operations.
  • Act as support liaison for all sites in helping comply with regulatory requirements. Ensure all operations are carried out in compliance with applicable regulatory and GE requirements. Understand EHS contractual requirements.
  • Act as onsite Safety when required supporting all GE Vernova initiatives from jobsite.
  • Supporting and sometimes performing audits in line with the business audit plan when not working, with rigor and consistency, to identify deficiencies and drive improvements in the management of EHS. Manage Safety Data Sheet databank for Canada.
  • Conduct weekly inspections of site including the Life Saving Rules validations, emergency drills and other onsite safety requirements. Validating working methods and safety rules, procedures are followed. Validate protective equipment is used properly, and all devices necessary for safety are in place, used appropriately and support corporate policies.
  • Support the business in driving continuous improvement in EHS programs, and the way they are implemented across sites.
  • Review, analyze and evaluate effectiveness of existing programs and recommend necessary improvements. Support the region in maintaining accreditation across assigned sites.
  • Drive increased use of Digital Programs and tools across assigned sites, aligned with GSI Global.
  • Support investigations and analysis of all accidents or hazardous situations. Identify trends and causes, as well as follow up on corrective and preventative actions.
  • Participate in the evaluation of safety and environmental associated risks at the time of bidding and during work.
  • Deliver EHS training to assigned sites population as required.
  • Ensure all internal and external EHS reporting is completed on time and with accuracy.
