About The Position

To support workplace safety, environmental compliance, and regulatory programs by developing training, conducting audits and inspections, managing compliance activities, and promoting a culture of safety. This role partners with operations, engineering, and HR to reduce risk, ensure compliance with applicable regulations and ISO standards, and drive continuous improvement across the organization.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2-3 years’ experiences in environmental, health and safety
  • Ability to write procedures, policies, reports, and correspondences
  • Must be comfortable delivering presentations to varied audiences
  • Ability to read and interpret documents for various audiences
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP)
  • Good organizational skills with the ability to demonstrate effective communication, interpersonal and writing skills
  • Ability to work independently with little to no direction
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations and environmental compliance requirements
  • Incident investigation and root cause analysis skills
  • Hazard identification, risk assessment, and corrective action management
  • Strong data analysis and reporting capabilities
  • Ability to influence and coach employees and leaders on safety practices
  • Project management and continuous improvement skills
  • Knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree in environmental health and safety or related field of study
  • Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in environmental, health and safety role in a manufacturing environment

Responsibilities

  • Support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of environmental, health, and safety (EHS) programs, objectives, and performance metrics
  • Ensure compliance with applicable environmental, health, safety, and transportation regulations, including Process Safety Management (PSM), air and water permitting requirements, hazardous materials regulations, and emergency response preparedness
  • Develop, coordinate, and deliver EHS training programs to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements
  • Conduct safety, environmental, and regulatory audits, inspections, and assessments; identify risks and drive corrective and preventive actions to closure
  • Assist in the administration and continuous improvement of the ISO 45001 Occupational Health & Safety Management System and ISO 14001 Environmental Management System
  • Facilitate Safety Committee meetings and partner with employees and leadership to address workplace health and safety concerns
  • Maintain required permits, registrations, certifications, and records associated with environmental compliance and transportation activities
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, and other functional teams to ensure EHS requirements are incorporated into facility, equipment, process, and new product initiatives
  • Coordinate and support EHS-related projects, including risk reduction, environmental improvements, and regulatory compliance initiatives
  • Serve as a member of the HAZMAT Emergency Response Team and support emergency preparedness, response, and incident investigation activities
  • Provide technical guidance and support regarding chemical safety, hazard communication, and safe work practices
  • Partner with Human Resources and leaders to support incident management, workers’ compensation cases, return-to-work programs, and injury prevention efforts
  • Investigate workplace incidents, near misses, and environmental events to identify root causes and implement corrective actions
  • Monitor, analyze, and report EHS performance metrics and recommend improvements to drive a culture of safety and regulatory compliance
  • Other duties as assigned
